CR is the cook! He's actually the mastermind behind this all. Wendy handles the business end of things. Samantha is in charge of prepping the foods and assists in handing the food out as the orders are placed. Scott also wears many hats. He helps with lots of different things, one of those being the "runner" when things are needed. He's very strong & his muscles are much appreciated when the heavy stuff needs moving. Scott & Samantha are both are a huge part of this family business & CR & I love & appreciate their involvement.

 

CR in his younger years struggled with drug & alcohol addiction. We found a very special place called Potter's Wheel Ministries in Mount Olive, NC. Potter's Wheel is a Christ centered solution to drugs & alcohol. It's not a "rehab," it is a "REGENERATION PROGRAM." There's so much more to just cleaning up your drug use and being sober. While at Potter's Wheel CR learned to believe in himself and learned to live a life without drugs and alcohol. He also became a completely dependable husband, father, and grandfather. You see, learning and deciding to live for Jesus causes a total transformation in a beautiful way!

In the program at the Wheel, CR was assigned to the kitchen where he planned and cooked three meals a day and fed approximately 100-150 people every Sunday. (Again, doing something he really enjoyed.)

While at Potter's Wheel, we met this amazing band called Living Proof from Richlands, NC. Robbie & Gail Heath are the lead members of the group. They often came out to Potter's Wheel to sing & minister to the guys in the program & worship the Lord. At the beginning of June 2014, Robbie asked Wendy to play the keyboard and sing with the band. This was an AWESOME opportunity as she loves to play and sing! Shortly after that, they asked CR to be the cook for their food ministry. They'd go out into the streets and feed the homeless while bringing them the Word through music and testimony. This was right up CR's alley! Nothing could be better they thought as Wendy loved playing & singing music & CR loved to cook & serve! Samantha & Scott were also involved with Living Proof as they served food at every event and helped with anything else needed.

CR has always dreamed of doing what we're doing now; and it's all because he gave God his all. The Lord has now blessed us with this ministry & our goal is to bless others! When you stop and think about it, you can see how God has brought all of this full circle. He cleaned CR up, allowed him to do what he loved doing already but in a Christian manner and lifting up the name of Jesus. The Bible says, "Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart." Psalm 37:4 Wendy truly enjoys playing music with Living Proof and is very thankful for the chance to play with such talented musicians. Living Proof also has a prison ministry in which numerous souls are fed the Word of God through music & testimony. Serving with Living Proof has been a blessing in itself but also has prepared us for the work the Lord has for us to do now. 

One more blessing is working closely with One Promise, another amazing band from Pink Hill, NC. We've partnered with them to raise money for a Christian based facility for men called Alpha & Omega Home in Pink Hill as well.

We do vending in festivals & catering to raise monies so we're able to do street ministry feeding the homeless and talking to people about the Lord. When a person is hungry and you can feed them not just physically but from your heart, it can make a world of difference in someone's life.
